People who have suffered permanent heart damage from the diet drug Fen-Phen have only a short time to claim part of a $3.75 billion settlement that was made in January, a Nevada law firm warns.
Nearly 6 billion people nationwide were prescribed Redux and Pondimin from 1992 to 1997 and may be entitled to damages, says the law offices of White & Meany, a pharmaceutical and medical products liability firm that offers free consultations and endocardiograms for people exposed to the drug.
The settlement was reached in January with Fen-Phen makers American Home Products Corp. in a class action lawsuit for heart valve damage caused by use of the drug.
People who believe they have been injured by the drug can call White & Meany tollfree at (800) 932-3186.
