Inmate stabbed to death in Ely

An inmate at the Ely State Prison was stabbed to death this morning, Nevada Department of Corrections spokesman Howard Skolnik said.

The stabbing occurred between 1 and 3 a.m. The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of his family.

The homicide is being investigated by the White Pines Sheriff's Office, officials said.
