The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams both took second to BYU at the Mountain West Conference Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday night in Oklahoma City,
UNLV's Jacint Simon and Lorena Diaconescu each earned their third straight MWC Swimmer of the Year titles.
Simon captured the 200-yard freestyle title for the third straight year. He also won the 100 free (44.70) and 500 free (4:24.89) individual titles and anchored the champion 400-yard free relay team (2:57.75) of Michael Short, Jonathan Hugo and Quinten Allen.
Diaconescu claimed six conference titles at the championships. She swam on all three of UNLV women's championship relay teams and won the individual titles in the 100- and 200-yard free events and set a MWC record in the 200 IM (2:02.63).
