Letter: Learn English or head back south of border

Our family is in Germany some five years and the two grandkids attend the German International School. The criteria is all must learn English first as they teach in English, then German.
When you qualify for a driver's license, two German instructors watch every movement. You must do it in German or no license.
Isn't it time we quit babysitting our south of the border visitors and say learn English, teach it to your kids preschool or head back south of the border? I even favor night school for the parents, but they pay for it by work in-kind at the school.
