Lilliam Carrasquillo

Lilliam Carrasquillo, 37, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. An office clerk, she was born Jan. 14, 1965, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Lillian Rodriguez; and her father, Efrain Carrasquillo.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Evelyn Hernandez

Evelyn Hernandez, 56, of Henderson died Oct. 25 in Henderson. She was born Feb. 2, 1946, in Oklahoma. A resident for eight years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by one son, Ray Griffin.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Garnet Walter Kidd

Garnet Walter Kidd, 97, of Las Vegas died Oct. 15 in a local care center. He was born Jan. 22, 1905, in Basin, Idaho. A resident for five years, he was a health care worker, a retired cattle and sheep rancher in Southern Idaho for 75 years and was the oldest living member and past exalted ruler of Elks Lodge 1384 in Burley, Idaho.

He is survived by one daughter, Joan K. Ryan of Las Vegas; one son, Dean Kidd of Meridian, Idaho; one sister, Dorothy Kidd of Caldwell, Idaho; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial ritual service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Elks Lodge 1368, 4100 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be in Burley, Idaho. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Idaho Elks Rehabilitation Hospital, P.O. Box 1100, Boise, ID 83701.

Mary Evelyn LeFevre

Mary Evelyn LeFevre, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Texas. A resident for 32 years, she was a homemaker.

Last month, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert V. LeFevre.

Graveside services will be private. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Lee Roy Mangum

Lee Roy Mangum, 70, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 24, 1932, in Texas. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired systems engineer for a computer company.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; and one daughter, Lisa Scott.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Frank Maranto

Frank Maranto, 69, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born July 13, 1933, in Chicago. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired night watchman for the city government.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Tina Tenenholtz, and one son, Sam Maranto, both of Henderson; two stepdaughters, Pam DiDomenico of Chicago and Donna DiAntonio of Henderson; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Gerald F. Mayden

Gerald F. Mayden, 71, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 28, 1931, in Nebraska. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired console operator.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn; one daughter, Nancy Gates of Rison, Alaska; one son, Val J. Mayden of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Hazel McClanahan

Hazel McClanahan, 91, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A laborer in the electronics industry, she was born March 24, 1911, in Illinois.

Carl D. Peacock

Carl D. Peacock, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Fort Greene, Fla. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired painting contractor and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; one son, Jeffrey Peacock of Denver; three brothers, Horace Peacock of St. Petersburg, Fla., Donald Peacock of Crystal River, Fla., and Eugene Peacock of Dunnellon, Fla.; and one granddaughter.

A memorial service will be noon Sunday at 5501 Avant Garde Court. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Leonel Roberto Roybal

Leonel Roberto Roybal, 37, of Las Vegas died Oct. 3 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 22, 1965, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was the manager of the Jaguar Club.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; one son, Paul Anthony Bejar, and his mother, Maria Roybal, both of Las Vegas; his father, Edward Roybal of Henderson; one brother, Eddie Roybal, and one sister, Elizabeth Roybal, and his grandparents, Minnie Roybal and Greg and Josephine Zuniga, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Sunday with a 7 p.m. rosary in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Mary Francis VanCleve Smith

Mary Francis VanCleve Smith, 75, of Pahrump died Wednesday in Pahrump. She was born April 13, 1927, in Kansas. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired music teacher and writer, a soloist and pianist who earned her master's degree in music at the University of Nevada, Reno.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; one son, Benjamin Smith Jr.; and one grandson.

She is survived by six daughters, Diane Wakefield, Karen Greco, Beverly Bayan, Patricia Barclay, Jerri Ann Matthews and Brenda Bradley; two sons, Wayne Smith and Brian Smith; her mother; two brothers; one sister; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Kingdom Hall. Burial will be in Reno. Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road, is handling arrangements.

Verna Lee Young, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 10, 1938, in New Mexico. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Wiley Heiskell of Las Vegas; two daughters, Shandalyn Arrington, and Melanie Munoz, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Bill Fry and Jim Fry; and four sisters, Georgia VanFleet of Utah, Winifred Bond, Helen Montano and Hazel Weigle of New Mexico.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be private.
