A Community College of Southern Nevada loan to an outside group prompted members of the state Board of Regents to strengthen a policy against such practices.
An audit committee voted unanimously to clarify a state law that prevents any state money in university system control to be loaned to outside institutions.
CCSN had loaned $15,000 in September to an organization run by the Ministerial Alliance of Southern Nevada, a group of black ministers representing Las Vegas Valley churches.
The official draft of the new regents' policy will come back to the full board in December for approval.
