James E. Barron

James E. Barron, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born March 29, 1921, in Marvell, Ark. A resident for 49 years, he was a retired dancer and longtime entertainer in Las Vegas and a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

He is survived by one niece, Patti Mata of Norwalk, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Marina L. Claravall

Marina L. Claravall, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 23, 1950, in the Philippines. A resident for eight years, she was a sales specialist at Wal-Mart.

She is survived by her husband, Gerardo T.; her mother, Rosalinda deLeon Duyao, two brothers, Marcio Duyao and John Duyao, and two sisters, Editha D. Desamito and Nora Duyao, all of Hawaii.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services and burial will be in Hawaii.

Ruth M. Duggan

Ruth M. Duggan, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Los Angeles. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Missy O'Connell and Auty Colegrove, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Ward Amparan of Redding, Calif., and Gar Amparan and Gregg Amparan, both of Tucson; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Edith Edmonds

Edith Edmonds, 66, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 2, 1936, in Greenville, S.C. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired hospital registered nurse, a member of Daughter of Isis Ophir Court 201, Chi Eta Phi Sorority Inc. and Columbia Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.

She is survived by her husband, Elijah; two daughters, Melanie Roberts of Tucson and Gina Clark of Las Vegas; two sons, Gerald Edmonds and Michael Edmonds, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Elnora Carter, four sisters, Mary Wiggins, Elinor Green, Caroline Donald and Debra Martin, and three brothers, Sloan Carter, Frank Carter and Kenneth Carter, all of Greenville; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Zion Methodist Church, 2108 N. Revere St. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

John T. Grady

John T. Grady, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1942, in Carlsbad, N.M. A resident for six years, he was a retired Air Force chief master sergeant and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Erlinda; three daughters, Lisa Grady of Rancho Palos Verde, Calif., Kristle Grady of Las Vegas and Irene Manalo of Culubasa, Philippines; two sons, Willmar Dungca and Mark Dungca, both of Culubasa; one brother, Kenneth Grady of Alamogordo, N.M.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Monday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Curtis Lee Gulick

Curtis Lee Gulick, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Cumberland, Md. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired flight mechanic, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Bonsai Club.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy L.; four daughters, Linda Soldi of Hansen Hills, Calif., Carol G. Davis of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Terry Wright of Quartz Hill, Calif., and Ginny Murphy of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 4 p.m. service Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Burial will be in California. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Michael C. Hamilton Sr.

Michael C. Hamilton Sr., 44, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1958, in Los Angeles. A resident for six years, he was a parts counter clerk for a machinery company, worked at Cashman Equipment for five years and deejayed at Cashman events.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyne S.; three sons, Michael C. Hamilton Jr. of Las Vegas and Cameron Hamilton and Brendan Hamilton, both of San Antonio; one daughter, Amber Hamilton, and his parents, Billy Ray and Ruby Jewel Hamilton, all of San Fernando, Calif.; five brothers, Billy Brewer of Sylmar, Calif., Darryl G. Hamilton, Gregory Hamilton and Randy B. Hamilton, all of San Fernando, and Stephen Hamilton of Granada Hills, Calif.; one sister, Valerie J. Hamilton of San Fernando Valley; and three grandchildren.

Edward Arnold Hughes

Edward Arnold Hughes, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 11, 1941, in St. Paul, Minn. A resident for 43 years, he was a supervisor in the composing room at the Las Vegas Review Journal and a former member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sue Ellen; one daughter, Teresa Sue Taylor of Folsom, Calif.; one son, E. Robert Hughes of Las Vegas; two sisters, Theona Garner of Las Vegas and Zoella Magel of St. Louis Park, Minn.; one brother, Van Hughes of Bakersfield, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in the Relief Society Room at the Elkhorn Springs 2nd LDS Ward. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Loretta L. Hulbert

Loretta L. Hulbert, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Schenectady, N.Y. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Robert M. Hulbert and William C. Hulbert, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Carm Gentile of Las Vegas and Jo Warner of Grandy, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a noon service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Erma L. Johnson

Erma L. Johnson, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 2, 1917, in West Helena, Ark. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; five daughters, Bobbi Lynn Washington of Zion, Ill., and Audrey Johnson, Rachelle Johnson, Katricia Johnson and Daurice Johnson, all of Las Vegas; one son, Darrin Johnson of Las Vegas; two sisters, Henrene Tolbert and Earl Elizabeth Johnson, both of Waukegan, Ill.; three brothers, Henry Harrell and Cleveland Harrell, both of Georgia, and Samuel Harrell of St. Louis; five grandchildren; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to a 10:30 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Genevieve Johnston

Genevieve Johnston, 77, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 11, 1925, in Memphis. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired county government social worker.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd.

Josephine Knepp

Josephine Knepp, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 12, 1946, in Los Angeles. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired lab technician for a medical firm.

She is survived by two daughters, Jamie Vass and Felicia Knepp, one son, Richard Knepp, and one sister, Emma Terry, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Antonio Larenas

Antonio Larenas, 69, of Pahrump died Sunday in Pahrump. He was born March 6, 1933, in Mexico City. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired sheet metal worker for a teletype corporation.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; one son, Tony Larenas of Dallas; three daughters, Elizabeth Menard of St. Charles, Ill., Maria Melina of Chicago and Patricia Purcell of Illinois; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Friday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Pahrump.

Thomas Gary Martin

Thomas Gary Martin, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 1, 1951, in Detroit. A resident for 14 years, he was an electrician at the Riviera hotel for 10 years and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Chrisann; four children, Brian, Chriselle, Brentin and Evan, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Drive, Henderson. Burial will be private. Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Barbara F. McMillion

Barbara F. McMillion, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 26, 1921, in New Orleans. A resident for eight years, she was a retired property manager who owned her own business and was a champion bowler in Metairie, La.

She is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Military of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Friday with a 5 p.m. service in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Earle McNeely

Earle McNeely, 71, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1931, in Charleston, W.Va. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired concrete finisher, a Korean War Army military policeman stationed in Japan, a member of the American Legion and Teamsters Local 631.

He is survived by his wife, Jean A.; one daughter, Dorothy Samples, and one son, Mike McNeely, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Betty Burgess and Ruth Meadows, and three brothers, Ronald McNeely, Clyde McNeely and Donald McNeely, all of West Virginia; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Richard E. Nilsen, M.D.

Richard E. Nilsen, M.D., 74, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 21, 1928, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired physician, a former FBI agent, a Navy veteran, a member of the American Medical Association and former chairman of the board of Desert Springs Hospital.

He is survived by five sons, Richard W. Nilsen of Henderson, John A. Nilsen of Provo, Utah, David D. Nilsen of Boulder City, Thomas A. Nilsen of Oakley, Idaho, and Mark A. Nilsen of Temecula, Calif.; one daughter, Janet N. Crowley of Farmington, Utah; one sister, Carol Beckstead of Mesquite; and 16 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to a 10 a.m. service Saturday in the LDS Green Valley Stake Center. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Vincent Novelli, 51, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1951, in Philadelphia. A resident for 30 years, he was a supervisor in the gaming industry, most recently working at the Rio, and a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his mother, Sarah A.; one sister, Denise Cliver of Clayton, N.J.; and one brother, Joseph Law of Pennsylvania.

Delores Polk, 68, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Chicago. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired grocery checker for Vegas Village.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Jr.; one daughter, Varetta "Cookie" Stivers, and one son, Frederick Lynn Polk, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Betty Johnson of Chicago; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Hermon Raynor

Hermon Raynor, 84, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born Dec. 12, 1918, in Harrison, Ark. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired welder for a titanium maker.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Sharon Resler of Boulder City; three sons, Ronald Raynor of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, Dale Raynor of Henderson and Gene Raynor of Boulder City; two sisters, Dicie Cox of Oakland, Ore.; one brother, Henry Raynor of Springfield, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Helen M. Rhyne

Helen M. Rhyne, 84, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 10, 1918, in Auburn, Mich. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired bank officer and a member of the Henderson Senior Center.

She is survived by one son, Charles Rhyne of Tracy, Calif.; one daughter, Barbara Smith, and her companion, John Bacon, both of Henderson; two sisters, Ruth Hitchcock and Betty Pickering, and three brothers, Bob Weiger, Jerry Weiger and Frank Weiger, all of Midland, Mich.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Palm Chapel, Henderson, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Zane M. Rivas

Zane M. Rivas, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born July 18, 1922, in Oregon. A resident for more than 60 years, she was a retired legal secretary and worked for the district attorney's office for 16 years.

She is survived by her husband, Arturo; one stepdaughter, Joy Luiz of Carson City; two stepsons, Arturo Rivas Jr. of Bandon, Ore., and Juan Rivas of Honolulu; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 4 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park.

C.G. "Kris" Scroggins, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 26, 1947, in Oceanside, Calif. A resident for 23 years, he was a government geologist.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lee; two sons, Kristopher Eric Scroggins of Junction City, Ark., and Brian Patrick Scroggins of Las Vegas; one brother, Tom Scroggins of Albany, Ore.; and six grandchildren.

Margaret M. Siebert

Margaret M. Siebert, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired insurance broker.

She is survived by two brothers, Joseph J. Bradshaw of Las Vegas and John D. Bradshaw of Berwyn, Ill.

Anthony Wayne Smith

Anthony Wayne Smith, 39, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 21, 1963, in Louisville, Ky. A resident for 25 years, he was a driver and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Patterson of Las Vegas.

Wanda June Teneyck

Wanda June Teneyck, 61, of Las Vegas died Jan. 26 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Arizona. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Richard and Monte Teneyck and Bill Bartlett; one daughter, Bridgett Ashton; three brothers, Shorty, Colin and Gary Hulsey; four sisters, Barbara Robinson, Linda Smith, Shirley Verzani and Anita Noble; and eight grandchildren.

Idamae Rose Wilfong

Idamae Rose Wilfong, 70, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 19, 1932, in Michigan. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; three sons, Jeffery Wilfong and Jesse Wilfong, both of Nevada, and Leslie Wilfong of Arizona; one daughter, Allison Mae Kelly of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
