Woman convicted in hotel killing

A Pennsylvania woman on Wednesday was found guilty of all charges in the 2001 stabbing death of a tourist at a local hotel.

After deliberating for about five hours, jurors found Paulette Perry guilty of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery with the use of a deadly weapon.

A penalty phase in the case is expected to begin Feb. 10 before District Judge John McGroarty. Perry faces a life sentence.

During the weeklong trial, prosecutors alleged Perry and her boyfriend, Kenneth Grant, lured David Sygnarski, also of Pennsylvania, into their room at the now defunct Maxim hotel before stabbing him to death and stuffing his body under the bed.

Grant is expected to go to trial later this month.
