Two trade shows to debut in LV

Two three-day trade shows for aftermarket manufacturers and retailers in the motorcycle and off-road recreation industries have been scheduled at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The 2003 Off-Road Aftermarket Expo is scheduled Oct. 10-12 and will run in conjunction with the Maxxis U.S. Open Motocross competition at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. About 2,000 people are expected to attend.

Big Twin West, which will have its inaugural event Jan. 23-25, is expected to draw 3,000 people and will be similar to its two-year-old counterpart in Indianapolis, Big Twin East.

Both Las Vegas events are being put on by The Powersports Group, a division of Santa Ana, Calif.-based Advanstar Communications Inc., which produces 92 business magazines and directories and 77 trade shows and conferences annually.

About 100 companies are expected to exhibit at each of the Powersports events.
