Robert V. Afflerbach

Robert V. Afflerbach, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 12, 1934, in Suffolk County, N.Y. A resident for 48 years, he was a retired industrial thermal insulator, a Korean War Navy veteran and a charter member of the Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Local 135.

He is survived by his wife, Callie A.; two daughters, Cheryl Ann Tauber and DeAnna Fair, one son, Glenn Afflerbach, and one stepson, Gary Eltzroth, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon until a 3 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

'Bud' Bolls

"Bud" Bolls, 67, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Missouri. A resident for 47 years, he was a lathe operator for a titanium producer.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; two daughters, Donna Porter and Mary Byrne, both of Henderson; and four grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Marjorie E. Boysdos

Marjorie E. Boysdos, 48, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. A resident for seven years, she was born Dec. 26, 1954, in Wisconsin.

She is survived by her husband, Georgios; one son, Michael J. Boysdos; two daughters, Despina LaBlanc and Kristina Boysdos; her father, John Baxter; one sister, Clair Pauschert of Wisconsin; and one grandchild.

Services were scheduled Wednesday morning. Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, handled arrangements.

Amber Maria Freundlich

Amber Maria Freundlich, an infant, died May 23, her date of birth, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Craig and Tonya Freundlich, and one sister, Cassandra Lynn Freundlich, all of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, William and Marla Steinbaugh and Joe and Dottie Slaiman.

Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.

John William Greene

John William Greene, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday. A retired juvenile probation officer and a World War II Army veteran, he was born March 22, 1922, in Wheeling, W.Va.

He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Toplak and Christina Greene; and one son, Aaron Greene.

Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Monday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Sol Gruber

Sol Gruber, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1917, in New York City. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired taxicab driver and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Brian Gruber of Auburn, Calif.; one sister, Ruth Shapiro, and one brother, Sheldon Gruber, both of Florida; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

James Norman Hawkins

James Norman Hawkins, 74, of Las Vegas died April 18 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Binghamton, N.Y. A resident for 25 years, he was a veteran of the Binghamton Police Department for 22 years and a security officer for Nevada Power for 12 years, an Army veteran and a member of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jamie Hawkins; and one sister, Wanda Hawkins.

He is survived by his wife, BJ; and one son, Michael Hawkins of LaGrange, Ill.

A graveside memorial service will be 11:20 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Sunrise Cremation & Burial Society, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 5, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Virginia Huli

Virginia Huli, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Fresno, Calif. A resident for nine years, she was a retired loan officer.

She is survived by one daughter, Gail Brush of Las Vegas; and one son, Walter N. Huli Jr. of San Pedro, Calif.

Ray Lieblick

Ray Lieblick, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for 5 1/2 years, he was born Aug. 18, 1928, in Illinois.

He is survived by one son, Martin of Hawaii; two daughters, Mallory Eckert of Oregon and Kathie Lieblick of Colorado; one brother, Marvin Marshall of California; one sister, Clair Pauschert of Wisconsin; and five grandchildren.

Edith M. Martin

Edith M. Martin, 88, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born March 22, 1915, in Walnut, Ark. A resident for 67 years, she was a motel owner-manager.

Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ronald Earl Orner

Ronald Earl Orner, 69, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. A treatment supervisor for the Las Vegas Valley Water District and a retired Vietnam War Navy veteran, he was born June 17, 1933, in San Jose, Calif.

He is survived by one son, Steven Orner of Henderson; one daughter, Jamie Monaghan of San Bernardino, Calif.; one sister, Linda Gail of San Jose; and two grandchildren.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Tillman Owens Jr.

Tillman Owens Jr., 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 24, 1949, in Sondheimer, La. A resident for 40 years, he was a laborer.

He is survived by one son, Ricky Owens of Washington state; four daughters, Debra, Gloria Knox of Pioneer, La., and Rosie Smith and Atlanta Joyce, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Atlanta Owens of North Las Vegas; one brother, William D. Owens, and three sisters, Weltha Roberson, Margaret Ann Owens and Wilma J. Owens, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1941 N. H St. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Collette M. Rodriguez

Collette M. Rodriguez, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 15, 1928, in Los Angeles. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired billing clerk.

She is survived by her husband, Andy; two daughters, Christina Miller of Chandler, Ariz., and Andrea France of California; two sons, Lawrence Rodriguez and Stephen Rodriguez, both of Ely; one brother, Gerard Courtois of Kingman, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 1:30-3:30 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Stephen R. Wheeler

Stephen R. Wheeler, 47, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. He was born March 23, 1956, in Evergreen Park, Ill. A resident for 30 years, he was an electrician.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara A. Wheeler, his companion, Cynthia Warren, two brothers, Michael Wheeler and Raymond Wheeler, and one sister, Susan Wheeler, all of Boulder City.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
