Philip Baker

Philip Baker, 65, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 18, 1937, in Quincy, Mass. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired air conditioning and sheet metal worker.

He is survived by two sisters, Bonnie Harris of San Clemente, Calif., and Sarah Caven of Aurora, Colo.; two brothers, William Pate of Las Vegas and Ernest Baker of Lakeland, Fla.; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at 525 K Ave., Boulder City, followed by graveside services in Boulder City Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Dorothy L. Baltz

Dorothy L. Baltz, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born June 24, 1920, in Galesburg, Ill. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired office manager.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Baltz of Las Vegas and John Baltz of Elmhurst, Ill.; five grandchildren; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Keith Philo Collier

Keith Philo Collier, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Boulder City. Born May 16, 1940, in Colorado, he was a resident for five years.

He is survived by his companion, Janice Adams; one son, Daniel Collier; three daughters, Julie Thompson, Dawn McElroy and Tracy Adams; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Maria Esparza

Maria Esparza, 89, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. She was born April 20, 1914, in Morenci, Ariz. A resident less than a year, she was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by two sons, Frank R. Esparza of North Las Vegas and Alex Esparza of Pinetop, Ariz.; four sisters, Connie Tart of Ohio, Irma Alvarez of California and Eva Subia and Esperanza Hernandez, both of Arizona; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Betty Fowlie

Betty Fowlie, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 27, 1929, in Milwaukee. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired clerk, volunteer at St. Rose Hospital, and she taught adults to read at the Henderson Library.

She is survived by one son, Michael Fowlie of Denver; five daughters, Susan Brunke of Arvada, Colo., Pat Barash of Aurora, Colo., Pam Jonas of Palm Coast, Fla., and Judy Lucas and Mary Murphy, both of Henderson; two sisters, Dorothy Fritsch and Joanne Huebschen, and four brothers, Ralph Radke, Harvey Radke, Robert Radke and Jack Radke, all of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 8 a.m until 10 a.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

James Guier

James Guier, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Pine Bluff, Ark. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired railroad lineman.

He is survived by one brother, William Guier, and one sister, Margaret Guier, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Michael Hargrave

Michael Hargrave, 36, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1967, in Dayton, Ohio. A resident for 18 years, he was a hotel supervisor.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kandis and Christian Schneider, and one brother, Matthew E. Hargrave, all of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Connie Lynn Hargrave of Valencia, Calif., and Magann Nycole Jordan of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 6:30 p.m. memorial service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Fred E. 'Gene' Harrison

Fred E. "Gene" Harrison, 76, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Lexington, Mich. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired educator, World War II and Korean War Army veteran, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Joni; two daughters, Michele Johnston of Allenspark, Colo., and Candace Harrison of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sons, Robert Harrison of Aurora, Colo., and Fred Harrison of Lakewood, Colo.; two sisters, Marilyn Gilles of Delray Beach, Fla., and Lois Meyers of Adrian, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Suzanne Hibbard

Suzanne Hibbard, 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 7, 1949, in California. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James K.; one son, Eric Smith; one daughter, Cynthia Jade Alden; one brother, Sean Smith; one sister, Pamela Smith; and one grandchild.

Stanley Hiller

Stanley Hiller, 46, of Las Vegas died June 9 in Las Vegas. He was born March 22, 1957, in Germany. A resident for 15 years, he was a driver.

He is survived by one brother, Charles Hiller of Las Vegas.

Phillip E. Langham

Phillip E. Langham, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1937, in North Hollywood, Calif. A resident for 36 years, he owned and operated Phil's Barber Shop.

He is survived by his companion, Sharon Charette, and one son, Steve Langham, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

David B. Martens

David B. Martens, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 10, 1949, in Pomona, Calif. A resident for 22 years, he was a landscaper.

He is survived by his wife, Judith A.; and two daughters, Lisa Eileen Noble of Alta Loma, Calif., and Samantha Marie of Ephrain, Utah.

Beverly Signy Melaerts

Beverly Signy Melaerts, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 31, 1935, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Francois; four sons, Frank Melaerts, Martin Melaerts, Michael Melaerts and Billy Melaerts; five daughters, Linda Melaerts, Cindy Melaerts, Julie Melaerts, Suzann Stockton and Mary Melaerts; and 23 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m to 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Carl Chapel, 5800 Carl Ave.

Louie Muratore

Louie Muratore, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 6, 1922, in Corona, Calif. A resident for 53 years, he was a retired newspaper printer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Terry Muratore of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary LaCorte of Gilroy, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. services today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Additional services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Richard Stanley Peters

Richard Stanley Peters, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired state trooper, World War II Navy veteran, and a member of the Policeman's Benevolence Association.

He is survived by his wife, Ann M.; five daughters, Chris Kraffert and Debbie Miller, both of Las Vegas, Karen Michaels of Buffalo and Tracy Nelson and Tammy Peters, both of Jamestown, N.Y.; one son, Todd Peters of Las Vegas; one stepson, Dennis Ormond of Jamestown; three stepdaughters, Brenda Bunce of Kennedy, N.Y., Terry Nunez of Erie, Pa., and Dawn Ormond of Jamestown; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until noon services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Richard B. Prazak

Richard B. Prazak, 70, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born April 16, 1933, in Dorchester, Neb. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service supervisor, Korean War Navy veteran, and a member of the American Legion and Studebaker Drivers Club.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons, David Prazak, Larry Prazak and Rob Prazak, and one daughter, Lisa Prazak, all of Phoenix; three sisters, Dorothy McGregor of Lincoln, Neb., and Mary Bullock and Joan Beratta, both of Omaha, Neb.; and three grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Emilia Salayich

Emilia Salayich, 83, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 31, 1920, in Rome. A resident for 47 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Violet Hawkes, and one son, Vince Salayich, both of Henderson; two brothers; two sisters; and six grandchildren.

James E. 'Smitty' Smith

James E. "Smitty" Smith, 65, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 5, 1937, in Fordyce, Ark. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired Union Pacific Railroad conductor.

He is survived by his wife, Liz.

Hannah E. Spendlove, 90, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 15, 1913, in Henryville, Utah. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Maxine Graff of Spanish Fork, Utah, Allene Galindo and Janet Adams-Combs, both of North Las Vegas, and Joyce Spendlove of Las Vegas; two sisters, Dorothy Tyler of Idaho and Darlene Rommel of Mt. Pillar, Idaho; two brothers, Woodrow Smith of Murray, Utah, and Lynn Smith of Boise, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Shawn Howard Steinke, 69, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. He was born Nov. 8, 1933, in Pacific Grove, Calif. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; two daughters, Malinda Cornforth and Cynthia Sullivan, both of Virginia; two sisters, Karen Cooper of New York and Linda Eaton of Alaska; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday in Faith Christian Church, 1100 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.

James P. Stois

James P. Stois, 64, of Henderson died Friday in a local care center. He was born May 10, 1939, in Huntington, W.Va. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired fire department engineer and Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife Judy; one son, Kelly Stois of Yuma, Ariz.; three daughters, Tina Cole of Denver and Jill O'Neil and Lisa Velo, both of Henderson; one sister, Susan Hage of Huntington; one brother, John Stois Jr. of Sacramento; and six grandchildren.
