Documentary

The Clark County Parks and Community Services Department presents the documentary "Crumb" at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Winchester Community Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Admission is $3. 455-7340.

Literacy Day

Several activities are planned from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Sam's Club, 1910 E. Serene Ave., as part of a Literacy Day celebration. Storytellers James Bowen and Scott Hensley kick off the event, with Coronado High School Drama Club students, local scouts, firefighters, librarians and members of the literacy project "Kids to Kids" on hand. Classic cars

The 14th annual Great American All-Ford Classics Show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Team Ford, U.S. 95 and Ann Road. More than 100 classic Ford and high-performance Mustangs will be on display. The event is free. 382-9610.

Candle dipping

Kids are encouraged to learn how to dip candles -- and take one home while supplies last -- at a free living-history demonstration at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park's historic sandstone cabins from 1-3 p.m. Sunday. 875-4141.

Feng shui

Local feng shui master Lin Huang and author Kathryn Peters-Brinkley will give tips on how feng shui can be used to enhance health, relationships and prosperity at a demonstration at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Ave. The event is free. 507-3940.

Editing workshop

If you're still trying to figure out how to use that camcorder, a free video editing workshop will at 3 p.m. Saturday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. 229-4800.

Anime for kids

As part of the ongoing Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District presents a children's anime festival at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Enterprise Library, 25 E. Shelbourne Ave. The film series is suitable for children 10 and under. The festival is free. 507-3760.

Book signing

Author Stephen Coonts will be signing copies of his books from 2-4 p.m. Saturday as part of the Spring Jamboree from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Wilbur and Bicentennial parks in Boulder City. Coonts will be in Bicentennial Park. 293-0474.

Fashion show

The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary will hold its annual spring luncheon and "nearly new" fashion show, "Spring into Fashion," starting at noon Tuesday at the Stardust's Avelon Ballroom. Cost is $25. 270-6802.

Book signing

Festival

Top-rated international talent and local artists will both celebrate Hispanic culture at a concert/festival commemorating Cinco de Mayo from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lorenzi Park. Tickets are $7 for adults and $2 for children. 284-6425.

Art competition

Sculptors and artists working in three-dimensional media can submit samples for the fifth annual E. Pluribus Artis invitational exhibit June 23 to Aug. 9 in the lark County Government Center rotunda. Folklife festival

More than 20 Southern Nevada ethnic communities will sell traditional food and beverages at the 2003 International Food and Folklife Festival, 1-9 p.m. Saturday at the Clark County Government Center Ampitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. A concert at 7 p.m. Friday will featur Killian's Angelsplaying Irish music and Mexican folk dance group Tepuchcalli. Saturday's portion of the festival will feature traditional folk performances, costumes, handmade craft demonstrations and sales and hands-on children's activities. Admission to the festival is $2 in advance and $3 at the gate. The concert has a separate admission of $2 advance and $3 at the gate. Children 12 and under get in free. 455-8242.

Arts competition

Artists 50 and older may submit two- or three-dimensional artwork for the third-annual fine arts competition, "Celebrating Life!" Entries are due May 8-9. Entry forms are available at Derfelt Senior Center, 3333 W. Washington Ave., in Lorenzi Park. Finalists will be displayed May 17-June 20 at Derfelt and first-place winners and best of show will be displayed June 24-July 18 at the George Federal Building, 333 Las Vegas Blvd. South. 229-6601 or 229-4631.
