Louis Desmond Atchley

Louis Desmond Atchley, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 4, 1913, in Weldon, Ark. A resident for 61 years, he was a sheet metal worker for a construction company, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 88.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; three daughters, Kathleen Atchley of Tucson, Susan Morales of Long Beach, Calif., and Joy Reinert of Las Vegas; two sons, Kenneth Atchley and William Atchley, and one brother, Ernest Atchley, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Juanita Mendenhall and Barbara Pope, both of Las Vegas, and Nancy Shields of Kansas City, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Friday in the West Charleston LDS chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Donald Roy Ebert

Donald Roy Ebert, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Santa Cruz, Calif. A resident for many years, he was an electronics technician at the Tonopah Test Range, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran, past exalted ruler of Elks Lodge 1062 in Tonopah and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association for 53 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah J.; one son, Dennis R. Ebert of San Antonio; two daughters, Caran L. Ebert of Topanga Canyon, Calif., and Linda S. Olson of Reno; one brother, Kenneth Ebert of Eldorado Hills, Calif.; one sister, Doris Skuba of Gualala; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

John Galik Sr.

John Galik Sr., 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 16, 1921, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 17 years, he was a disabled World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; one son, John S. Galik of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until a 12:30 p.m. service Friday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. A graveside service will follow at 1:20 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Aaron Hoffman

Aaron Hoffman, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A salesman, he was born Feb. 26, 1926, in New York.

He is survived by one daughter, Marcy Feldman.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Los Angeles. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Leona LeVeque

Leona LeVeque, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 8, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 24 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, L. Donald; three daughters, Pamela Tanis of Glenview, Ill., and Lisa LeVeque-Malmgren and Laura LeVeque-Schackel, both of Henderson; one son, Frederick Johnson of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Joseph A. Mankawich

Joseph A. Mankawich, 90, of Las Vegas died April 29 in North Las Vegas. He was born June 26, 1912, in Illinois. A resident for many years, he was an aerospace engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Mankawich of Las Vegas; two sons, Mark Mankawich of Las Vegas and Joseph D. Mankawich of Roatan, Honduras; one daughter, Judy Baker of Hilton Head, S.C.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Robert 'Roy' McClelland

Robert "Roy" McClelland, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 16, 1937, in Ballymena, Ireland. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired contruction superintendent.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; two sons, Colin McClelland and Roy McClelland, both of Ireland; one stepdaughter, Sharon Hollis of California; one stepson, David Bonar of Scotland; four sisters, Margaret Dodds, Wilma Reid, Ray Adair and Rosemary Moore, and three brothers, Mervyn McClelland, Desmond McClelland and Brian McClelland, all of Ireland; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

David Cooney Moyer

David Cooney Moyer, 29, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A service professional for a restaurant, he was born June 16, 1973, in New Jersey.

He is survived by his parents, Paul and Colleen Moyer, one sister, Michelle Moyer, and his grandmother, Gloria Cooney, all of Fort Myers, Fla.

Burial will be in Florida. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Thomas F. Papagna Sr.

Thomas F. Papagna Sr., 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 5, 1914, in Youngstown, Ohio. A resident for 49 years, he was a retired supervisor in the gaming industry and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Anita M.; two sons, Thomas F. Papagna Jr. and Toby Papagna, and one sister, Eleanor Papagna, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Reginald 'Reggie' Pugh

Reginald "Reggie" Pugh, 95, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1907, in Trigona, Tenn. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired laundromat owner, a Navy veteran and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Nicholas Tsunis

Nicholas Tsunis, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 21 years, he was a restaurant owner-operator and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; three sons, James Tsunis of San Diego and Nicholas Tsunis and Michael Tsunis, both of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Dorothy V. Vomund

Dorothy V. Vomund, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Newburgh, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired data processor.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two sisters, Irene Brown of Newburgh and Mary Vesely of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and one brother, Stan Vesely of Beverly, Mass.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Mary A. Wayne

Mary A. Wayne, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Jamaica, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Alan Wayne and John J. Wayne Jr., both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Burial will be in New York state. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.
