New flights planned to Vegas

Two airlines that serve Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport will add service to Milwaukee and Denver in July.

Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Northwest Airlines plans nonstop round trips leaving Milwaukee daily at 8:30 a.m., arriving at 10:15 a.m., and leaving Las Vegas at 11:10 a.m., arriving in Milwaukee at 4:37 p.m. The airline will use twin-engine Airbus A-319 and A-320 jets and compete against Midwest Express on the route.

Beginning July 3, Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air will operate Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays, leaving Denver at 6 p.m., arriving at McCarran at 6:55 p.m., and leaving Las Vegas at 7:25 p.m., arriving at Denver International Airport at 10:15 p.m. Allegiant will use 162-seat MD-83 twin-engine jets and compete with United, Frontier and America West airlines on the route.
