Vida Blake Albright

Vida Blake Albright, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 13, 1930, in St. Anthony, Idaho. A resident for 49 years, she was a medical assistant, a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and past president of the LDS Relief Society.

She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia K. York of Las Vegas; two sons, Kenneth W. Albright of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dennis M. Albright of Las Vegas; her mother, Della L. Blake of St. George, Utah; two brothers, Dr. Jay R. Blake of St. George and Gary J. Blake of Salt Lake City; three sisters, Marsha Lyn Gubler of Santa Clara, Utah, Jelaine Shrum of St. George and Velaine Turnbull of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Thursday in the LDS chapel at Tonopah Avenue and Civic Center Drive. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Robert J. Avery

Robert J. Avery, 54, of Las Vegas died April 25 in North Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 7, 1948, in California. A resident for many years, he was a salesman of sports memorabilia and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Leslie of Las Vegas; one daughter, Jessica Ryan, and one brother, Steve Avery, both of California.

Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North handled private arrangements.

Nancee Ann Berquist

Nancee Ann Berquist, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born April 20, 1936, in Michigan.

Services are pending. Burial will be in Michigan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Elmer D. Bouc

Elmer D. Bouc, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 13, 1931, in Nebraska. A resident for one year, he was a retired miller and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Barrett of Las Vegas; two sons, Allen and Jason, both of Omaha, Neb.; and two grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. A memorial service will be in Nebraska. Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.

Mary Capobianco

Mary Capobianco, 79, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Pizzone, Italy. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Lana Civitello of Henderson; one son, Robert E. Capobianco of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson.

Eddie Charles Carter

Eddie Charles Carter, 47, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 15, 1955, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a cook.

He is survived by his mother, Lucille Carter, and four brothers, Kenny Carter, Anthony Carter, Steve Carter and Kelvin Carter, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Joyce Claudet of Reserve, La., and Shelia Stewart of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Florence Lee of Reserve.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Zion United Methodist Church, 2108 N. Revere St., North Las Vegas. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Leroy Clay

Leroy Clay, 70, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1933, in Gene Autry, Okla. A resident for one year, he was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Mollie; four sons, Ronald Clay and Danny Clay, both of Oakland, Calif., Gerald Clay of Las Vegas and Robert Clay of Fremont, Calif.; one sister, Kathryn Clay of Las Vegas; two brothers, J.W. Scott and George Scott, both of Springer, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Max D. Davis, M.D.

Max D. Davis, M.D., 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born March 9, 1926, in Garland, Utah. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired physician, a World War II Navy veteran and a former member of the American College of Allergy and Immunology.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dona; two sons, Craig Davis and Max W. Davis, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Toni Watts of Las Vegas and Sherie Schwendiman of Rexburg, Idaho; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Thursday in the LDS Palmhurst Ward, 7800 Alta Drive.

Nancy Irene Ferry-Bentzen

Nancy Irene Ferry-Bentzen, 52, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 20, 1951, in Los Angeles. A resident for 13 years, she did administrative work in a restaurant and was a member of the 51 Club.

She is survived by her husband, William; her stepfather, Richard Shotwell of Henderson; and two brothers, Mike Ferry of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Jim Ferry of Atlanta.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jamie B. Green

Jamie B. Green, 25, of Las Vegas died Sunday near Lake Mead. He was born May 30, 1977, in Landstuhl, Germany. A resident for 17 years, he was a warehouseman for construction products.

He is survived by his parents, Byron and Karin Green of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Kristin Jenson of Lincoln, Calif., and Jade Green of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. May 24. at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Richard G. Hess Sr.

Richard G. Hess Sr., 68, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 20, 1935, in Reno. A resident for 36 years, he was a truck driver and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane Hannah of Salt Lake City; one son, Richard Hess Jr. of Las Vegas; three brothers, Perry Hess, Dennis Hess and Keith Hess, and one sister, Judy Hess, all of Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be in Utah. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

John Hoopes Jr.

John Hoopes Jr., 62, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born May 7, 1941, in Hot Springs, Ark. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired construction supervisor and a member of the Las Vegas Jaycees.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret J.; one son, Stephen Hoopes, and his stepmother, Elwanda Hoopes, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Susan Amick of Little Rock, Ark., Donna Weaver of Marin County, Calif., and Janette Asche of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Paul J. Iverson

Paul J. Iverson, 55, of Carson City died Thursday in Washoe Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1947, in Cedar City, Utah. A former Las Vegas resident, he taught fifth grade from 1970-1975, served as the Clark County science curriculum coordinator from 1975-1980, was the administrator of the Division of Conservation and Planning for the Nevada Department of Energy, was appointed deputy director of the Nevada Department of Minerals in 1983 and director of the Nevada Department of Agriculture. He was a veteran of the National Guard, a Dixie College graduate and earned his master's degree in education at UNLV.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Norman in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Ginger; two sons, Christain and Michael, both of Reno; two daughters, Holly Allen of Topaz and Kari of St. George, Utah; one stepson, Patrick Taylor of Hawaii; one stepdaughter, Meghan Taylor of Carson City; his parents, Rudy and Lois of St. George; one sister, Suzanne Nicholson of Ogden, Utah; and seven grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City, is handling arrangements.

James Kelly

James Kelly, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 14, 1924, in Oasis, Utah. A resident for 44 years, he was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Legion and West Millard Riding Club in Delta, Utah.

He is survived by his wife, Betty B.; one son, Steven L. Kelly of Bunkerville; two daughters, Starr E. Bell of Las Vegas and Saralee Berry of Redding, Calif.; one brother, O. Ladd Kelly of Riverton, Utah; two sisters, Dawn Anderson and Ann Cropper, both of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in the LDS chapel, Gateway and Wyoming. Burial will be in Utah. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Harold Lederer

Harold Lederer, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 21, 1918, in New York City. He was a retired city government accountant, a World War II Army veteran, a member of B'nai B'rith and Jewish War Veterans Post 21.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; one daughter, JoAnn Chew of Reston, Va.; one son, Barry Lederer of New York City; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Carl 'Gus' Linderholm

Carl "Gus" Linderholm, 65, of Pahrump died Thursday in Pahrump. He was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Alamosa, Colo. A resident for 24 years, he retired as a pit boss and 21 dealer at Saddle West in 1996 after 16 years, he was a route salesman for Red Star, served on the Lompoc, Calif., police department and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie; five sons, Carl Linderholm of Texas, Charles and Steve, both of California, Tim Bennett of Oregon and Ray Bennett of Pahrump; one daughter, Gerri Bortner, his father, Clark Burt, and one sister, Roberta Campbell, all of California.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Wednesday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road. Graveside services with military honors will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Pahrump.

Angeline Q. 'Ann' McBride

Angeline Q. "Ann" McBride, 76, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Fairbury, Ill. A resident for 37 years, she retired as a budget analyst from the Bureau of Reclamation in 1988 and was a member of the Nevada State Troupers dance group.

She is survived buy two daughters, Sherry Shively of Henderson and Lori S. Orton of Cedar City, Utah; one son, James F. Shively of Santa Fe, N.M.; one stepdaughter, Kathy Hahn of Sacramento; one stepson, Bill McBride of Richardson, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Kallman Moses

Kallman Moses, 89, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 26, 1913, in New York City. A resident for 27 years, he was a federal government electrician.

He is survived by two daughters, J.C. Moss of Seattle and Rochelle Farmer of Anchorage, Alaska; and one brother, Louis Moses of Overland Park, Kan.

Graveside services were scheduled May 9 in Bunker Eden Vale Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Frances I. Pacheco

Frances I. Pacheco, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 14, 1925, in Vernon, Texas. A resident for 36 years, she was the manager of a water softener company.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest; three daughters, Ann Evans of Las Vegas, Kay McCain of Burton, Kan., and Nina Horin of Fillmore, Calif; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services and burial will be in Santa Fe, N.M.

Vicky D. Quintanilla

Vicky D. Quintanilla, 70, of Las Vegas died May 6 in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Athens, Greece. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired Strip hotel seamstress.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Jr.; one son, Anthony D. Quintanilla of Las Vegas; one brother; and three sisters.

J.R. 'Ted' Varela

J.R. "Ted" Varela, 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1935, in Los Angeles. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired Air Force chief master sergeant and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a member of the Masons, Toby's Club and Mustang Club.

He is survived by one son, Michael Varela of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one daughter, Aurora Adams of Las Vegas; one sister, Alicia Uranga of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren.

Nettie M. Washington

Nettie M. Washington, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 4, 1917, in Oklahoma. A resident for 46 years, she was a hotel powder-room attendant.

She is survived by one child, Ruby Boyd of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Unity Baptist Church, 545 N. Marion Drive. Burial will be private. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Maude Reece Waters

Maude Reece Waters, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 22, 1920, in Missouri. A resident for nine years, she was a retired legal secretary.

She is survived by her husband, William M.; and one brother, James Reece of Hillsboro, Ore.
