Arturo L. Acosta

Arturo L. Acosta, 55, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 25, 1948, in Jalisco, Mexico. A resident for 32 years, he owned and operated a landscaping business.

He is survived by his wife, Rafaela; two sons, Arturo Acosta Jr. and Hugo Acosta, both of North Las Vegas; his mother, Matilda Lopez, and his father, Felix Acosta, both of Mexico; one sister, Virginia Hernandez of San Jose, Calif.; four brothers, David Acosta, Javier Acosta, Felix Acosta and Pedro Acosta, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Clark E. Alexander

Clark E. Alexander, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Denver. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired city government maintenance supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; one daughter, Paula Miller of Las Vegas; two sons, Kenny Alexander of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Mark Alexander of Bella Vista, Ark.; his father, Eugene Alexander of Security, Colo.; two sisters, Barbara Christensen of Elizabeth, Colo., Donna Lamar of Rosie Claire, Ill.; two brothers, Barry Alexander and Dennis Alexander, both of Security; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Griffith United Methodist Church, 1701 E. Oakey Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Dale Edward Allen

Dale Edward Allen, 46, of Las Vegas died May 3 in a local hospital. A plumber, he was born Nov. 25, 1956, in Michigan.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Johnathan Allen; one daughter, Heather Allen; his mother, Donna; and three brothers, Charles Allen, Glen Allen and Garnet Allen.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 4 p.m. service Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Ruth Auerbach

Ruth Auerbach, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 28, 1921, in New York City. A resident for nine years, she was a retired piano teacher, a member of Woman's American ORT, Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, Zionist Organization of America and a volunteer at William R. Lummis Elementary School.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Auerbach of Lake Forest, Calif., and Leonard Auerbach of Orinda, Calif.; one brother, Joseph Vodnoy of Beverly Hills, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. June 9 in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Dottie Jean Bennett

Dottie Jean Bennett, 52, of Las Vegas died May 7 in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1951, in Delhi, La. A resident for 37 years, she owned a fencing company.

She is survived by three sons, Leonard Slack, Lennix Slack and Antonio Slack, all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Aisha Bennett of North Las Vegas and Vera Bennett of Las Vegas; three brothers, William T. Slack Jr. and Willie Slack, both of Las Vegas, and Charles Slack of Texas; six sisters, Reassie Love, Patricia Lovette, Shirley Smith and Sherry Slack, all of Las Vegas, Gladys Cole of Henderson and Mary Lou Baylock of Chicago; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1941 N. H St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Theodore Lorenzo Blosser

Theodore Lorenzo Blosser, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Santa Maria, Calif. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired rancher, a licensed pilot, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, Nevada Farmers Bureau and Navion Society.

He is survived by three daughters, Trudy Dettmer and Patricia Green, both of Las Vegas, and Janet Miller Davis of Pahrump; one son, T. Gregory Blosser of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in the Pahrump LDS chapel. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Research, Houston.

Marion Bunker

Marion Bunker, 93, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 23, 1909, in Silver City, Utah. A resident for 83 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Johnson of Boulder City; three sons, Richard Bunker, Robert Bunker and Gary Bunker, one brother, Norman Mott, and two sisters, Wilma "Bille" Noyes and Helen Cecil, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the LDS chapel, Gateway and Wyoming. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.

Frieda M. Cook

Frieda M. Cook, 94, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 26, 1909, in Berlin, Germany. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker and did sewing for charitable purposes for Mount St. Olive Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Eruja Gelgart Kletzin of Los Angeles and Bergitta Kelly of Las Vegas; one sister, Lisa John of Germany; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-noon Friday with a 10 a.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Michael Doucette

Michael Doucette, 46, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A computer programmer, he was born Sept. 14, 1956, in Massachusetts.

He is survived by two brothers, Donald J. Doucette of Waltham, Mass., and Barry J. Doucette of Canton, Mass.

Burial will be in Massachusetts. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Hollis Ellis

Hollis Ellis, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 18, 1925, in Quitman, Ga. A resident for one year, he was a retired Navy E-7 and Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Edith P. Fox

Edith P. Fox, 93, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 26, 1909, in Santa Barbara, Calif. A resident for seven years, she was a retired radio continuity writer.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Bakos; two daughters, Patricia E. Stewart and Georgia L. Fox; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Robert W. Genochio

Robert W. Genochio, 79, of San Diego died Sunday in San Diego. He was born June 2, 1923, in Redwood City, Calif. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a slot manager for 27 years in local casinos.

He is survived by two sons, Greg D. of San Diego and Rick A. of Cocoa, Fla.

No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in San Diego. El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, is handling arrangements.

Patrick M. Hamilton

Patrick M. Hamilton, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 31, 1943, in Baraboo, Wis. A resident for nine years, he was a truck driver and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; one daughter, Deanna Kruse of Baraboo; five sisters, Judy Krabbenhoft of Alamo, Texas, Janet Smith of Sauk City, Wis., Geri Huseth of Blue Mounds, Wis., Joan Baker of Sheridan, Wyo., and Joyce Fisher of Baraboo; and one grandchild.

Donald James Hatch

Donald James Hatch, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday. He was born July 27, 1921, in Wayne, Neb. A resident for 26 years, he owned and operated an auto salvage company.

He is survived by his wife, Georgie; three sons, Charles, Danny and Terry; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Kathryn 'Kay' Jacobs

Kathryn "Kay" Jacobs, 89, of North Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 13, 1913, in Amherst, Ohio. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired head hostess in the casino industry for 16 years and a member of Southern Nevada Culinary and Bartenders Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Catherine Jacobs of Las Vegas; one son, Jon Jacobs of Los Angeles; and one grandson.

Anne Madrick

Anne Madrick, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born May 12, 1918, in Pori, Finland. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Sun City Community Center.

She is survived by her husband, Albert; two sons, Barry George of Northridge, Calif., and Robert George of Encino, Calif.; one daughter, Susan Hanley of Bodega Bay, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were set for 9 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Frances E. Merry

Frances E. Merry, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 14, 1932, in Corry, Pa. A resident for 11 years, she worked for Pacific Southwest Airlines and as a photographer for the Navy 1953-1964. She was an Eric Business College graduate.

She is survived by two brothers, Charles Merry of Waterford, Pa., and Arthur Merry of Wattsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Downs of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Catherine Smelser of Seminole, Fla.

Wiliam Mort, 76, of Las Vegas died April 24 in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1926, in Ohio. A certified mechanic, he was a Coast Guard veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; and one son.

Lehmann McBride Page, 73, of Las Vegas died May 5 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Arkansas. A resident for 50 years, he was a real estate broker and member of the Democrat Party.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Kay; three daughters, Paula Lee Page, Lisa Patrice Page and Lori Page Evans; one sister, Jean Taylor; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Spanish Oaks Clubhouse off West Sahara Avenue.

Margie O. Patronyk, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 17, 1917, in Arkansas. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired waitress.

Anthony Joseph Piccolo, 93, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1909, in Passaic, N.J. A resident for six years, he was a retired utility company supervisor, concert violinist and diamond cutter and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Joseph A.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will follow at 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Warren Woodrome Pletcher

Warren Woodrome Pletcher, 88, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Clinton, Mo. A resident for one month, he was a Santa Fe Railroad engineer for 40 years, a member of the Elks and was a senior citizen line-dance instructor.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; two daughters, Virginia Ann McDonald of Needles and Rita McKay of Henderson; two sons, Richard Pletcher and Paul Pletcher, both of Needles; two sisters, Virginia Ann Flint and Frankie Maulding, both of Helendale, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Janice Rider Rudeseal, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 1, 1931, in Gooding, Idaho. A resident for 35 years, she was a licensed practical nurse at Sunrise Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Renee Miranda and Debra Shore, and two sons, Jeffrey Rudeseal and Daniel Rudeseal, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

William 'Joe' Schafer

William "Joe" Schafer, 29, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 16, 1974, in Carson City. A resident for seven years, he was disabled.

He is survived by his mother, Katina 'Tina' Schafer of Las Vegas.

Roger Schroeder, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 6, 1934, in Mount Vernon, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a retired production manager in the aerospace industry, an Army veteran and a member of Sun City's golf club, bowling club and softball team.

He is survived by one daughter, Tori Schroeder of Las Vegas.
