New artist

Las Vegas artist Brad Blakely will display and sell his original works at a "Meet the Artist" event from 5-8 p.m. today at Wine Art Gallery, 4305 S. Industrial Road, #115. 368-1940.

Collages

George Chen will display his large-format textile collages as part of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month until June 1 at Sahara West Library -- Grotto, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. (507-3630), and until June 16 at Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd. (507-3820).

Art show

Reception

A reception will be held for winners of a recent art contest from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Summerlin Library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive. The art by young adults throughout Las Vegas will be displayed in a show entitled, "Trash to Treasure -- Water Smart Art Competition 2003," until July 6. 507-3860.
