Wranglers introduce Gulutzan as GM, head coach

The Las Vegas Wranglers announced that Glen Gulutzan will serve as the club's first general manager and head coach when they begin play this fall in the ECHL.

Gulutzan, 31, is a native of The Pas, Manitoba. He comes to Las Vegas after four seasons as a player-assistant coach for the Fresno Falcons under ex-Las Vegas Thunder player and Fresno head coach Blaine Moore.

During Gulutzan's tenure as a player-assistant coach, the Falcons won the 2001-02 Taylor Cup Championship. The Falcons made a return appearance to the WCHL Final this season, dropping Game 7 to the San Diego Gulls.

Gulutzan, the Falcons' all time leading scorer and a two-time WCHL All-Star, has chosen to move behind the bench permanently after a nine-year career.

"My family and I are extremely excited to be here in Las Vegas," Gulutzan said. "This is a tremendous opportunity for me, but it is also a big responsibility. There is a lot of work to be done, and I am committed to putting a winning team on the ice."

Wranglers' season tickets and mini-plans are available through the Wranglers' front office at the Orleans Arena. To reserve season tickets or schedule an Orleans Arena seat tour, contact the Wranglers' office at 471-PUCK (7825).
