Toyota notches record profits

Toyota Motor Corp., Japan's largest carmaker, notched record profits in the half year to September, with sales growing in all of the company's major markets. Toyota earned a record 524 billion yen ($4.8 billion) in the six months ending Sept. 30, a 23.2 percent increase from the same period a year ago.
