VegasBeat — Timothy McDarrah: ‘Vegas Live!’ seeks an audience on Fox

"Vegas Live! With Clint Holmes and Sheena Easton" was not aired this morning, and will be off the Las Vegas ONE (Cox cable channels 1 and 19) schedule for at least the next two weeks.

Las Vegas ONE General Manager Bob Stoldal has a meeting scheduled for today with the show's producers about its future on the station.

A decision was made to temporarily pull the show because it is "no longer in production," and the station did not want to air "second- and third-run repeats," according to Stoldal. He and co-producer Howard Lefkowitz both said production has ceased because the show wants to move to a studio that can accommodate a live audience.

"We have gifted and talented hosts who can talk as well as sing and the show needs an audience for them -- and our guests -- to play off of," Lefkowitz said this morning.

KVVU Channel 5 General Manager Susan Lucas told VegasBeat on Friday that she had been negotiating with Lefkowitz and Garson and that her station is prepared to air the show starting next month.

The producers see a KVVU connection as a possible first step to the show being broadcast nationwide on its sister Fox and Meredith Broadcasting stations.

"I don't know when we're going back to do the show again, and I don't know what studio we're going to go back to," Holmes told us Sunday night. "But I do know that there are a lot of things in motion and all of them are good."

Slipping a Mickey

Enrique who?

Tennis goddess Anna Kournikova did not have her usual companion, singer Enrique Iglesias, by her side when she traipsed down the red carpet at Caramel (Bellagio) before attending the second anniversary party for the club Light on Saturday night.

She was on the arm of thespian and pugilist Mickey Rourke.

Neither was talking about what kind of a relationship they have, but there was clearly something going on.

Kournikova, who was featured in the recent Sports Illustrated 40th anniversary swimsuit issue, spent much of the hour she and Rourke were at Caramel sitting on his lap as they chatted with guests Mark Wahlberg, David Arquette, Leonardo DiCaprio, Luke Wilson, Lukas Haas, Pete Yorn and Tobey Maguire.

The Russian-born beauty and the "9 1/2 Weeks" star did not talk with Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, who stayed mainly on the other side of the lounge. They also missed Nicky and Paris Hilton, who came with fellow heiress Casey Johnson. That trio came, were photographed on the red carpet and promptly left to go party at Palms.

After Rourke and Kournikova joined DiCaprio in singing "Happy Birthday to You" to a member of DiCaprio's posse, and a cake was brought out, they left Caramel to go on to Light. Rourke fell a few paces behind her, and the crowd surged toward her. Kournikova called out to him, "C'mon Mickey -- hold my hand."

He did just that, and they were escorted through the crowd of onlookers by Light overseer Sean Christie.

Inside Light, we asked each of them to expand on their relationship, but neither were talking.

Also parading through the crowd -- which at its peak must have been 50 people deep -- to get to the red carpet: Angie Harmon and Jason Sehorn, Jason Lewis and Willie Garson from "Sex and the City," megaproducer Jerry Bruckheimer, Hank Azaria ("Along Came Polly"), Richard Kind ("Spin City"), Donald Faison ("Scrubs"), Adam Rodriguez ("CSI: Miami"), Playboy's Miss May 1999 Tishara Cousino, football players Warren Moon and Marshall Faulk and, of course, Robin Leach.

Depp was the surprise best-actor winner for "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" at the event, the last major film honors before the Academy Awards.
