Letter: Military draft must be equitable

A military draft may be necessary as suggested by Mr. Mundy in his Dec. 31 letter. If the draft is reinstated, however, we need to avoid the inequities of the past, where some could avoid service simply because of family influence, money or the ability to get into college.

It has also been suggested that this could be a way to bring more people from the middle and upper classes into the military as a matter of national policy.
