Sellastean Baines

Sellastean Baines, 96, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for two years, she was born June 5, 1907, in Oklahoma.

She is survived by one daughter, Bernice Morris of Las Vegas; one son, Charles Baines, and one sister, Etta Jones, both of California; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Gary Gene Corbett

Gary Gene Corbett, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1946, in Denver. A resident for 37 years, he was an alarm technician and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Vernie; and four brothers, Wynn Olsen of Kearns, Utah, Ronald J. Bishop and Mike Corbett, both of Salt Lake City, and Mark Corbett of San Diego.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Lorenzo P. Cortez

Lorenzo P. Cortez, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care and rehabilitation center. He was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Bantay Ilocos Sur, Philippines. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired electrical engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Josefa; one daughter, Marietta Espiritu of Las Vegas; one son, Clark Cortez of Henderson; two sisters, Anita Cortez and Perpetua Suni-en, both of Baguio, Philippines; and two grandchildren.

Rosary will be 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Gladys M. Feinn

Gladys M. Feinn, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 16, 1931, in Detroit. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker, treasurer of the Northwest Citizens Association and active in civic matters.

She is survived by her husband, Conan; one daughter, Lynn Carol Feinn of Las Vegas; one brother, Harvey Stearns of Detroit; and one sister, Shirley Beschke of Dearborn, Mich.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to a 1 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Carol Ann Cammack Follette

Carol Ann Cammack Follette, 47, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 10, 1956, in Flint, Mich. A resident for 35 years, she was a preschool teacher at Merryhill School.

She is survived by two daughters, Diana Follette of West Los Angeles and Michelle Follette of Irvine, Calif.; one son, Kirk Follette of Las Vegas; two brothers, Kirk Cammack III of California and Michael Cammack of Canada; and two sisters, Kathy Black of Las Vegas and Jackie Salon Karvanous of Corona Del Mar, Calif.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Miguel Gimeno

Miguel Gimeno, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 20, 1915, in Spain. A resident for more than 50 years, he was a restaurant manager and an Army veteran.

A memorial service will be 11:20 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Jan W. Greener, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A retired mechanic for Nevada Power Co. with more than 30 years of service, he was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Erie, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; one daughter, Gretchen Apple of Las Vegas; three sons, John Greener, Damien Greener and Kurt Greener, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Sheldon Greener of Boulder City; one brother, Walter Greener of Golden Valley, Ariz.; and two granddaughters.

Visitation is scheduled 9:30 a.m. Friday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will follow at noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Albert John Hanis Jr.

Albert John Hanis Jr., 44, of Las Vegas died Dec. 11 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 22, 1958, in Ohio. A resident for 15 years, he was a design engineer in the gaming industry.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; one daughter, Rebecca Schoof of Wells; three sisters, Barbara Smith of New Mexico and Jackie Todd and Samantha Hanis, both of California; and one granddaughter.

Wanette Harmon

Wanette Harmon, 46, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A printer, she was born Aug. 26, 1957, in Korea.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; one son, Michael T. English II, her parents, Melvin and Ruth Warren, and two sisters, Kim Heaberlin and Faith Warren, both of Victorville, Calif.; one brother, Donald Wright of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and one grandson.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Victorville. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Bruce Imroth

Bruce Imroth, 56, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Aug. 13, 1947, in Illinois. A resident for 20 years, he was a police officer, an Army veteran and a member of the Moose.

He is survived by two sons, Bruce Imroth and Andy Imroth; three daughters, Marri Cerio, Marni Savage and Karleen Quigley; three brothers, Terry Imroth, Jay Imroth and Alex Imroth; one sister, Joan Metz; and 21 grandchildren.

Sondra Diana Kaleta

Sondra Diana Kaleta, 43, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Sept. 21, 1960, in Downey, Calif. A resident for 13 years, she was a deli saleswoman.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; two sons, Jesse Barros and Chevy Barros, her parents, Twila and Newman Berry, and one brother, Harold Berry, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Eun Ja Kim

Eun Ja Kim, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 14, 1915, in Chung Ju, Korea. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker and an elder at the Las Vegas Full Gospel Korean Church.

She is survived by two grandchildren.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Korean Full Gospel Church. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Ruth Cooper Knox

Ruth Cooper Knox, 74, of Arlington, Texas, died Friday in Arlington. A former Boulder City resident, she was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Ellensburg, Wash.

She is survived by her husband, James Donald; two sons, Keith and Steven, and one daughter, Sandra, all of Arlington; her mother and stepfather, Lucille and Ross Salter of Henderson; one brother, Tom Cooper of Boulder City; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Jan. 14 in Henderson Presbyterian Church, 601 N. Major Ave. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.

Frank McDermott

Frank McDermott, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 9, 1929, in Juneau, Alaska. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired dealer and an Army veteran.

He is survived by many friends.

James V. Morello

James V. Morello, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired dock worker in the import-export business and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Irene J.; two daughters, Janice Riceputo of Las Vegas and Karyn Memello of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sons, Robert Rayner of Las Vegas and David Rayner of Tamarac, Fla.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

June Dorothy Peterson

June Dorothy Peterson, 66, of Las Vegas died Dec. 14 in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 17, 1936, in Milwaukee. A resident for 34 years, she was a hotel wardrobe assistant.

She is survived by two sisters, Irene Schroeder of Milwaukee and Diane McNulty of Delafield,Wis.; two brothers, James Peterson of Southfield, Wis., and Richard Peterson of Orange, Texas.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Willie James Pruitt

Willie James Pruitt, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. An X-ray technician, he was born Feb. 8, 1925, in Texas.

He is survived by his companion, Bertha; one son, Tommy; three daughters, Joann, Connie and Sandra; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Lawrence Skiffey

Lawrence Skiffey, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Ohio. A resident for 14 years, he was a printing ink salesman, a Navy veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; two daughters, Sandra Nader and Kathryn Cooper; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Theresa Ann Tatum

Theresa Ann Tatum, 51, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 31, 1952, in Illinois. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Darryl Tatum of Chicago; three daughters, Tammie Tatum Simpson of Norfolk, Va., and Chervil Tatum and Shauni Tatum, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Jackie Ray Tatum of Chicago and Michael Tatum of Las Vegas; three sisters, Margaret Diemer, Gloria Garrett and Carolyn Tatum, all of Las Vegas, and Sandra Tatum and Barbara Tatum, both of Chicago; her mother, Cora Tatum; and six grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will be private. Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling arrangements.

Otto J. Waniczek

Otto J. Waniczek, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 1, 1930, in Ernstbrunn, Austria. A resident for four years, he was a retired engineer in the plastic molding industry, a member of Rotary and the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Heide A.; one son, Otto J. Waniczek Jr. of Lancaster, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 5 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Charles A. Wendelboe

Charles A. Wendelboe, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Logan, Utah. A resident for 65 years, he was a retired custodian for Las Vegas and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Margo; two daughters, Janetta Wendelboe and Karen Wendelboe, and two sons, Alan Wendelboe and Michael Ray Wendelboe, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Mark Wendelboe of Provo, Utah; and two sisters, Beth Waite of Logandale and Shirley Davis of Livermore, Calif.

Billy Whiteaker

Billy Whiteaker, 22, of Henderson died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 10, 1981, in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for eight years, he was a waiter.

He is survived by his father, Christopher K. Whiteaker of Cedartown, Ga.; his mother, Kathryn Renea Giles of Corinth, Miss.; three brothers, Michael Whiteaker of Corinth, Matthew Whiteaker of Cedartown, Ga., and Daniel Scipper of Henderson; and his grandparents, Eugene Giles and Fannie Giles, both of Corinth.
