Donald LeRoy Bovee

Donald LeRoy Bovee, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 11, 1919, in Pueblo, Colo. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired customs agent, retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by four daughters, Jessica Thorp, Catheline Fetzer, Patricia Keenan and Janice Lawley, all of California; one son, Charles York of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Dolores Bucholz

Dolores Bucholz, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Perham, Minn. A resident for 49 years, she was a retired escrow officer.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Ostrenger of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Leona and Louise of Perham.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Umblita Claire Butters

Umblita Claire Butters, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 13, 1946, in British Guyana. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, William J.; one son, Damon Butters of Henderson; two stepsons, William Butters Jr. of Las Vegas and Wayne Butters of Los Angeles; two stepdaughters, Carol Anne Bielenberg of Salem, Ore., and Pamela Kim Butters of New York; five sisters, Rosemarie of Freeport Bahamas, Judith of Australia, Devita of Miami, Fla., and Stephanie and Camille, both of Vancouver, British Columbia; and two brothers, Raymond of Las Vegas and Francis of Miami Fla.

A private memorial will be held. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Treatha Carter

Treatha Carter, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Lake Village, Ark. A resident for 47 years, she was a retired hotel waitress and active in many church groups.

She is survived by two daughters, Anglette Coleman and Janice Carter, and one son, Arthur "Kenny" Carter, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Everlina Childs of Lake Village, Ark, and Cleavo Pickins of Maywood, Ill.; three brothers, Eddie Webb and Willie Webb, both of Lake Village, and Gannie Webb of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ, 911 N. G St., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Effie Ann Cleveland

Effie Ann Cleveland, 98, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 4, 1906, in Wetumka, Okla. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired independent housekeeper.

She is survived by one son, George Everett of San Diego; and one brother, Henry Clipper of Palm Springs, Calif.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Florence M. Coleman

Florence M. Coleman, 63, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 22, 1941, in Newellton, La. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired hospital environmental services employee.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd; seven sons, Gerald Wesley of Baton Rouge, La., Kevin Washington of Joplin, Mo., Roderick Wesley and James Washington, both of Houston, and Rodney Wesley, Leslie Wesley and Craig Washington, all of Las Vegas; four daughters, Carolyn Washington of Los Angeles and Lisa Jensen, Susan Brown and Yolanda Washington, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Verona Wesley of Newellton and Barbara Lawson, Bernice Green and Linda Lucas, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Herbert Wesley of Elko and Issac Wesley, Carl Wesley and Kelly Wesley, all of Las Vegas; 52 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Monday in Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave.

Eugene Edward Cramer

Eugene Edward Cramer, 74, died Tuesday. Born April 23, 1930, in Minnesota, he was an inspector in the aerospace industry.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; four daughters, Michelle Thomas, Alana Burton, Florence MacMillan and Donna Ybarra, all of California; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at noon Aug. 7 at the Las Vegas Lodge 1763, 1600 Gragson Ave. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

John Mask

John Mask, 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 18, 1950, in Phoenix. A resident for 15 months, he was a retired Marine Corp veteran.

He is survived by one son, Alexander Mask; one daughter, Rachael Mask; three sisters, Jean, Sina Anne and Geneva; and three grandchildren.

Rose Mary Pace

Rose Mary Pace, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 26, 1925, in Detroit. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Sun City Women's Club, Bocci Club, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Club Italia and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Women's Club.

She is survived by her husband, Angelo J.; one son, Charles Pace of Tucson; three daughters, Valerie Donley of Gales Creek, Ore., Angela Donahue of Mansfield, Texas, and Annette Larson of Manteca, Calif.; one sister, Josie Russo of San Diego; two brothers, John Liccardello of Long Beach, Calif., and Frank Liccardello of Detroit; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Mortuary.

Joseph Perez

Joseph Perez, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 20, 1929, in Siracusa, Sicily. A resident for five years, he was a retired salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia; two sons, Joseph Perez of Las Vegas and Salvatore Perez of Wildomar, Calif.; and one daughter, Anna Marie Pearson.

A vigil will be held at 6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

George Weston Pierson Jr.

George Weston Pierson Jr. of Pahrump died Wednesday in Pahrump. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. A resident for 15 years, he was a sales executive.

He is survived by his wife, Rama; two sons, Woodrum and Robert; three stepdaughters, Kathleen Lugo, Sharon Myrick and Jess Elliott; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

John Donald Stenquist

John Donald Stenquist, 75, of Las Vegas died July 15 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Illinois. A resident for 10 years, he was an astronaut trainer for NASA.

He is survived by one sister, Dorothy McMinn of Des Plaines, Ill.

Tomalyn Taschek

Tomalyn Taschek, 51, of Las Vegas died July 9 in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1952, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a dealer.

She is survived by one son, Richard Taschek of Victorville, Calif.; one daughter, Jennifer Taschek, and one sister, Debbie Gagnebin, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Audra Walsh

Audra Walsh, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 11, 1922, in West Virginia. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one son, Douglas Carney of Valencia, Calif.; one daughter, Karen Carney of Las Vegas; two sisters, Edra Stanley of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Mary Lou Richmond of Lexington, S.C.; one brother, Doyle Williams of Daytona Beach; and two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Richard A. Ward

Richard A. Ward, 50, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 8, 1953, in Jacksonville, Fla. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired Air Force non-commissioned officer and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy A.; two sons, Raymond Ward of Las Vegas and Patrick Ward of Sycamore, Ohio; three daughters, Robin De Laughter of Las Vegas, Rachel Richardson of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Joline Lay of Sycamore, Ohio; and his mother, Frances Goble of Ventura, Calif.

Betty J. Weatherly

Betty J. Weatherly, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 18, 1938, in Amsterdam, N.Y. A resident for 44 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall; one son, John J. Jonas of Las Vegas; and one sister, Geraldine Hines of Great Falls, Mont.
