Samuel P. Aleccia

Samuel P. Aleccia, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. A retired musician, he was born Oct. 17, 1913, in Centerville, Iowa.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Aleccia Rosen of Las Vegas; one son, Anthony Aleccia of Florida; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Marvin Allen II

Marvin Allen II, 21, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 10, 1982, in Las Vegas. He was a custodian for a janitorial service.

Maria Conner

Maria Conner, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 7, 1938, in the Philippines. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Frank A.; two daughters, Vivian Munoz-Fisher and Gina Teich, two sons, David Conner and Mike Conner, and one sister, Lourdes Tartaglia, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Roberto Dimaisip and Manuel Dimaisip, both of the Philippines.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Leslie Patricia Dennis

Leslie Patricia Dennis, 47, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 22, 1957, in New Jersey. A resident for 18 years, she was a slot hostess.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse; one daughter, Lisa Fleming of Henderson; three brothers, Michael Fleischer of New Jersey, Daniel Fleischer of Hickory, Va., and Cletus Fleischer of Towanda, N.Y.; and one sister, Debbie Delahanty of Chesapeake, Va.

Visitation was scheduled noon-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Hites Chapel. Burial will be in Virginia.

Lloyd Maurice Furseth

Lloyd Maurice Furseth, 84, of Tacoma, Wash., died Friday in Tacoma. He was born in 1919, in Tacoma. A former Las Vegas resident for 46 years, he was a retired Holiday Inn casino executive.

He is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Nelson of University Place, Wash.; one brother, Elwood of Poulsbo, Wash.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Roy C. Gallagher

Roy C. Gallagher, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 28, 1921, in Columbus, Ohio. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired Army master sergeant and World War II and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian L.; three daughters, Pat Lior, Katie Gallagher and Debbie Washburn, all of Las Vegas; one son, Jerry Gallagher of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2:20-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Mary Louise Gonzales

Mary Louise Gonzales, 69, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Las Vegas, N.M. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Martin; five daughters, Bernadette Owens, Christine Gonzales, Anita Meschnark and Felicia Diaz, all of Henderson, and Sinda Theresa Gonzales of Saipan; two sisters, Gloria Giron of Las Vegas and Lorraine Jacques of Pueblo, Colo.; two brothers, George Sandoval and Thomas Sandoval, both of Pueblo; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Louise F. Liddy

Louise F. Liddy, 98, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 13, 1905, in Elizabeth, N.J. A resident for five years, she was a retired bookkeeper for a furniture company.

She is survived by one daughter, Rita LeBlanc of Las Vegas; one son, Edward Liddy of Lake Forest, Ill.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is assisting Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater, Fla., with arrangements.

Lena Darrell McWhirter

Lena Darrell McWhirter, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Akin, Ill. A resident for more than 30 years, she was a retired retail saleswoman.

She is survived by one sister, June C. Swift of St. George, Utah; and one brother, Dan Edwards of Sunland, Calif.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. March 26 in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Brenda K. Mendiola

Brenda K. Mendiola, 46, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 10, 1957, in Chicago. A resident for 24 years, she was a social worker for the state mental health department, Salvation Army, Harmony Health Care and Mojave Mental Health, a professor at UNLV and former clinical director of EOB treatment center

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Shane Austin.

She is survived by her husband, David A.; two daughters, Amy Pieper of Chicago and Brandy Mendiola of Las Vegas; one son, John Anthony "Tony" Mendiola, and one brother, Terry Knickerbocker, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today and 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Eunice S. Poehlman

Eunice S. Poehlman, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Florida. A resident for 28 years, she was a retired sales representative in the real estate industry.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; one son, Stephen Syverson; two daughters, Sonja Syverson and Carol Foley; one sister, Jewel Lloyd; and three grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private arrangements.

Walter G. Rodgers

Walter G. Rodgers, 82, of Greenville, Miss., died Feb. 24 in Greenville. He was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Cullman, Ala. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired Caesars Palace operating engineer, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Pearl Harbor Survivors.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma; one son, Rodney T. Rodgers of Las Vegas; one daughter, Peggy Jo Smith of Tonopah; two brothers, Thomas Rodgers of Loma Linda, Calif., and Eugene Rodgers of Big Bear, Calif.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests donations to in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Antdrell Damone Russum

Antdrell Damone Russum, 28, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 6, 1975, in Las Vegas. He was a Mirage convention porter.

He is survived by his companion, LeAndres Davis, two sons, Montrell Russum and Antdrell Russum Jr., his mother, Betty Jean Russum, and his father, Nathaniel Anderson, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Cory L. Russum of San Diego and Rodrick L. Russum of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Lucille and Jack Williams, Carey Anderson and Ernistine Riley, all of Las Vegas; and his grandmother, Rosalee Anderson of Tallulah, La.

Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Carver Baptist Church, 1221 N. J St. A private burial will follow.

Genevieve E. Shingledecker

Genevieve E. Shingledecker, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. She was born May 18, 1923, in Detroit. A resident for 33 years, she was a retired keno manager.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Cristiani of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Esther G. Swem, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 19, 1919, in Grand Junction, Colo. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired cosmetologist.

She is survived by her husband, William F.; one daughter, Linda Jones of Las Vegas; one son, Steve Swem, and one sister, Emma McCord, both of Grand Junction; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Bobby Alexander Williams Jr.

Bobby Alexander Williams Jr., 29, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 21, 1974, in Las Vegas. He was a construction foreman.

He is survived by his companion, Lorraine Connor Novosada, two daughters, Alexandrea M. Williams and Bobbi A. Williams, one son, Nathan A. Williams, his mother and stepfather, Mary L. and Tim Williams, one stepbrother, Darryl Williams, two stepsisters, Tiffany Williams and Trina Williams, and his two grandmothers, Winnie Williams and Juanita Williams, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in New Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
