Four more members of street gang plead guilty

Four more members of the Rollings 60s Crips street gang pleaded guilty to racketeering-related charges in hearings Monday and Tuesday.

Henry "Hanco" Carr, 24, and Todd "Demarlo Clash" aka "Demarlo Lucious" Davis, 31, both pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to engage in a racketeer-influenced corrupt organization, or RICO, on Tuesday. Fellow gang members, Ronnie "Ronnie O" Gibson, 32, and Courtney "Lil K.D." Jones, 25, pleaded guilty to the same RICO charge Monday.

Antonio "Riddler' Givens, 34, and Freddie "Romeo' Prentiss, 34, pleaded guilty last Friday to RICO conspiracy charges for their involvement in the gang's activities.

The six men were indicted, along with 16 others, on 88 counts of violent crime and drug trafficking offenses.

Authorities allege that the gang members, as a group, terrorized a West Las Vegas neighborhood by running drug houses, selling crack cocaine, aiding child prostitution and by participating in a violent gang war with a rival group.

By pleading guilty to the second RICO conspiracy count in the indictment, the six men admitted to being involved in the Rolling 60s Crips gang, admitted that the gang ran drug houses and sold cocaine, and admitted that the gang used violence to control drug sales in certain areas of Las Vegas.

Each of the men who pleaded guilty this week will face different sentences depending on their level of involvement in the gang, Natalie Collins, public affairs specialist for the U.S. attorney's office, said. Their sentences will also differ because federal sentencing guidelines depend on how much cocaine prosecutors can prove each man sold.

Prosecutors allege that Carr was one of the leaders of the Rolling 60s and he sold approximately 221 grams of crack cocaine. Carr disputes those allegations.

Because of Carr's alleged involvement, the U.S. attorney will ask for a an increased sentence when Carr comes before U.S. District Judge Larry Hicks Aug. 16. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison or a $250,000 fine.

Davis confessed to selling approximately 84 grams of crack cocaine before Hicks. Under his plea agreement he will be treated as having had minimal involvement in the gang. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors will ask for Davis to receive a reduced sentence, Collins said.

Gibson also admitted to selling approximately 84 grams of crack cocaine. He also is expected to receive a reduced sentence on the drug charge in exchange for his guilty plea.

Jones admitted to selling approximately 28 grams of cocaine and will receive a reduction in his sentence. Under Jones' plea agreement he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

The 16 remaining Rollings 60s members who have been indicted are scheduled for a pre-trial status check June 22.
