Residents will vote on new animal shelter

The Boulder City Council passed a resolution on Monday that would allow a ballot item regarding the construction of a $1.5 million animal shelter to be put on the ballot for voters in the June 2005 general election.

At issue is whether voters would approve the sale of the city's existing animal shelter and the use of $1.5 million in capital improvement money for the construction of a new animal shelter.

If approved, the new shelter would be built at Nevada Highway and Yucca Street.

The current shelter is at 1340 San Felipe Ave.
