Teaching pro wins Hy-Vee Classic

Maybe Kitty Robyn should bring her mother along more often.

As mom looked on from the edge of the green, Robyn sank a huge birdie putt on No. 17 and went on to win the Hy-Vee Classic by one stroke -- her first tournament win.

Robyn had encouraged her mother, Dorothy Young, to make the trip from Scottsdale, Ariz., for the Women's Senior Golf Tour Event because she wasn't sure how much longer Young would be able to follow her around the course.

Robyn, a teaching pro in San Diego, shot even-par 72 for the final round at the Hyperion Field Club to finish at 4-under 140.

Felton earns first title on tour

At Knoxville, Tenn., Australia's Kim Felton won his first title, making a 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a one-stroke victory ahead of two-time PGA tour winner David Peoples in the Knoxville Open.

The 30-year-old Felton closed with a 3-under 69 to finish at 11-under 277 on the Fox Den course. The 45-year-old Peoples also closed with a 69.

Aa Saint-Omer ends in playoff

At Saint-Omer, France, Sweden's Joakim Backstrom parred the first hole of a playoff with England's Paul Dwyer to win the Aa Saint-Omer Open.

Backstrom closed with a 1-under 70 to match Dwyer (68) at 4-under 280.
