Virginia Lee Bragg

Virginia Lee Bragg, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Shawnee, Okla. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lekawa of Tucson, Ariz., and Marjorie Conger of Las Vegas; one son, Tom Bragg of Henderson; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Rosie Lee Brooks

Rosie Lee Brooks, 75, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 17, 1929, in Fordyce, Ark. A resident for 54 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; one son, Albert Crosby, three daughters, Irma Y. Brooks, Janice R. Brooks and LaJuana F. Brooks, all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ, 911 N. G St., Las Vegas, NV 89106. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 913 Ogden St., Las Vegas, NV 89101.

Richard Caparida

Richard Caparida, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 11, 1940, in Kahuku, Hawaii. A resident for six years, he was a retired civil service meat cutter.

He is survived by two daughters, Madonna and Lily, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Lance of San Antonio, and Ryan of Las Vegas; eight brothers and sisters; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be in Hawaii.

Todd G. Dengler

Todd G. Dengler, 39, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 19, 1966, in Dunkirk, N.Y. A resident for 4 1/2 years, he was a waiter at a local casino.

He is survived by his parents, Lois and Kem Dengler, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Timothy Dengler of Pittsburgh.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Rinnah T. Esteban

Rinnah T. Esteban, 19, of Las Vegas died Friday. She was born Nov. 30, 1985, in the Philippines. A long-time resident, she was a medical student.

She is survived by her mother, Minda Esteban, and one sister, Rizzah Esteban, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Rimmon Esteban; and her grandmothers, Juanita Torres of Las Vegas and Nemesia Esteban of the Philippines.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 315 S. Casino Center Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89101. Burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Julia Marie Fitzwater

Julia Marie Fitzwater, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born July 21, 1917, in Farr, Colo. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired medical bookkeeper.

She is survived by four daughters, Joyce Dzuba, Jackie Gerlock and Joan Anderson, all of Henderson and Janet Roberts of Las Vegas; one son, Edward Fitzwater of Henderson; and seven grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

August E. 'Gus' Hamilton

August E. "Gus" Hamilton, 89, of Boulder City died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 21, 1916, in Prescott, Ark. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired teacher, World War II Army veteran and a member of the Disabled Veterans, the Boulder City Seniors Center and a parishoner of St. Andrew's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty J.; one daughter, Brenda Reilly of Naples, Fla.; one son, Don Hamilton of Boulder City; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Mausoleum, Boulder City.

The family suggests donations to St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005 or contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Kenneth B. Maines

Kenneth B. Maines, 93, of Las Vegas died June 23 in a local care center. He was born May 4, 1912, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 45 years, he was a professional gambler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie.

He is survived by two daughters, Kay Satcher of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Betty Warren of Peach Springs, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Sheri Stone McKain

Sheri Stone McKain, 51, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born May 27, 1954, in Jeffersonville, Ind. A resident for three years, she was a senior vice president for a licensing company.

She is survived by her husband, Scott; and her mother, Betty Stone of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until a 3 p.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Betty Meddock

Betty Meddock, 86, of Henderson died Monday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Riverside, Calif. A resident for two years, she was a retired district manager for a cosmetic company.

She is survived by one son, Terry Michael Meddock of Henderson; two brothers, Gordon Hall and Bill Hall, both of California; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be a half hour prior to a 10 a.m. graveside service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Urbano C. Panajon

Urbano C. Panajon, 95, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born May 25, 1910, in the Philippines. A resident for 19 years, he was a retired teacher and a member of the Illocano American Association and Sons and Daughters of Nagbukel-USA.

He is survived by his wife, Visitacion; two daughters, Elsie Consolacion of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Maria Panajon of Las Vegas; two sons, Macario Panajon of Ewa Beach, Hawaii and Noel Panajon of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Grayce Reed

Grayce Reed, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 5, 1933, in San Diego. A resident for 24 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Billy; two daughters, Nancy Graham of Hillsboro, Ore., and Terri Gleason of Las Vegas; two sons, James Boone of Fallbrook, Calif., and Darrell Boone of Vista, Calif.; two brothers, Alex Acosta of Big Bear, Calif., and Gilbert Acosta of San Diego; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Foothills Baptist Church, 6405 W. Cheyenne Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Fidel F. Torea

Fidel F. Torea, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Mexico. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired educator, World War II Navy veteran and president of the Sociedad Cultural Hispana.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret A.; two daughters, Margo Torea of Las Vegas and Rossana Vasquez of Marina, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Maylon M. Williams

Maylon M. Williams, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born June 22, 1923, in Winnsboro, Texas. A resident for six years, he was a retired bakery owner-operator and World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Dee; one son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Julia C. Williams, both of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
