Letter: Victory starts with great leadership

Reader Don Shirley makes a good point in his Jan. 15 letter contrasting the apparent lack of success in training the Iraqi army with the success of training the insurgents.

His letter brought to mind the words spoken by one of the actors in the movie "Top Gun." Readers may recall the actor said, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."

Clearly, it is not training that the Iraqi army lacks, it is a leader who can inspire them to greatness. Sadly, such a leader does not seem to be available at this time.
