Letter: Citizens deserve plan that Congress has

As usual, politicians such as President Bush need to cover their imprudent tax expenditures, such as Iraq, by creating a new "cash flow" (accounts receivable).

Bush's latest creation, to tax employer-funded health benefits, is a typical example.

Before members of Congress vote for this gem, we/they should take a good look at their own health care plan. Yes, folks, it's one of the best in the civilized world . I wish I had a health plan similar to our public servants . Canadians almost have it. In fact, every industrialized nation in the world has universal health coverage - except the United States.

So, ladies and gentlemen, let's lobby to (if they pass this monster) have our Congress folks include their fantastic health care plan in the proposed Bush tax scheme. I know this might create a hardship, but, seriously, I think our millionaire Congress folks can afford it.
