Letter: Bribery unnecessary to test students

I just want to offer a few comments about the Las Vegas Sun's March 10 story regarding the subject of schools offering "bribes" to students just for taking a proficiency test.

Comments by some principals, who find it necessary to coax students, by offering them either gifts or cash to take the proficiency test, are deplorable. It is utterly ridiculous for Sue Daellenbach, testing director for the School District, to say that "some of them (students) need a little convincing."
