Letter: Congress doesn't budget its time well

A question regarding Turkey and Armenia: Can someone please tell us why the U.S. Congress felt it necessary to label the tragic events of almost 100 years ago as genocide? Why do members of Congress think they have the right and responsibility to pontificate on a sad history?

We have our own situations in which we savagely dealt with the Native Americans

in this country. Why don't they have a meeting about that?

There were horrible losses, true, but what on Earth is to be gained or resolved at this late date?

Can't Congress deal with the many real daily problems that exist today?
