Letter to the editor:
Don’t blame budget crisis on governor

I find it interesting how so many people suddenly have such grave concerns and opinions about the state’s impending budget crisis.
Do we forget how just a couple of years ago we all got rebates because of such a positive balance in the state’s treasury? And that we had no problem accepting the political, feel-good gesture?
Smart politicians and state financial managers would have realized that even the gaming industry is not immune from a national economic downturn. This is not a problem that was made by the current governor and should not be painted that way for political or any other reasons.
Be glad that Gov. Jim Gibbons was smarter than so many people here and avoided spending monies recently, which would have just made the impending problem worse.
