Letter to the editor:

Congress is to blame for nation’s problems

George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter and Big Oil they’re all only names. Yet for 50 years we have blamed everyone for our problems including the aforementioned except the right ones.

Congress is the problem in this country, not any of the above. We have turned over our money to people who couldn’t run a business if their lives depended on it. Social Security, health care, high energy costs, food prices I can go on and on about many other things that you and everyone else already know.

Those in Congress could have voted this war out years ago, but what do they do? Put their fingers up to the wind and see which way the people will react to save their jobs. Did you ever count how many people have been in Congress more than 20 years? Give it a try.

How long have we been talking about fuel alternatives? I can’t remember when we didn’t talk about them. How about this one: How many people wake up in America hungry? And what has Congress done? Talk about it for the past 50 years.

And here we are in another election year, and you guessed it: All the so-called “leaders” seem to be able to raise millions and millions of dollars to get elected so they can continue their assault on the American people with all their lies and misuse of taxpayers’ funds. It’s funny they can raise all this money to get elected but can’t seem to solve simple everyday problems.

Remember that the people in Congress don’t have your Social Security and retirement funds they have their own, and you sure won’t ever get any.

Until the American people wake up, nothing will change.
