The Clark County Democratic Party sent out a news release after the faux convention Saturday that declared: “Clark County Democratic Delegate Election Event Runs Smoothly.” Indeed, there were few problems, the results were not contested and the Democrats put behind them the memories of the disastrous Feb. 23 event. But what’s not contained in the release is the main reason it ran so smoothly: The Clark County Democratic Party had little to do with the “delegate election event” do you love euphemisms, too? This was a product of the Obama and Clinton campaigns and the state party, which is run by pros. As for the county folks who screwed up the first one: I bet their coming ouster doesn’t go as smoothly.
