A lot of people have been bashing Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins recently after the Las Vegas Sun’s story about him parking in front of the county building, instead of in his “assigned” lot.
I met Tom a few years ago, and he is a down-to-earth, stand-up guy who doesn’t take guff from anyone. I don’t live in his district, but I wish we had more people like him representing us in government. Had Michael Galardi offered Tom a bribe, he would have probably received a knuckle sandwich for even thinking that his vote was for sale.
Between the Las Vegas City Council and the County Commission, Tom and Commissioners Chris Giunchigliani and Rory Reid are about the only ones I trust. And if it were up to me, they could park wherever they please, as long as they’re doing their jobs honestly.
