Respect that military instills is being lost

Regarding Abbott Mosher’s Tuesday letter, headlined “Politicians care only about themselves”:

I, too, am pained to see this great country hit a level of complete disrespect for our laws and truth in government.

Yes, Mr. Mosher, the military is a strong steppingstone for young people to have character and respect for authority and country.

I came to this country in 1954 as an immigrant from Canada. In 1957 I enlisted and spent three years in the Army and received my honorable discharge. I became a proud U.S. citizen. I fly the American flag daily with pride!
