Jim Gibbons will meet with emergency management types to talk about earthquakes

This afternoon, noted lawyer/pilot/geologist/hydrologist Jim Gibbons will meet with university officials, scientists and emergency management types on the UNR campus to talk about those earthquakes in Northern Nevada. So far, there has been a whole lot of shaking going on, but not a lot of damage. But once you get the governor doing a media event with eggheads and public safety types, people will start asking the inevitable question: Do they think these little ones are a prelude to the Big One? And perhaps the real question will be answered: Is this divine punishment for Reno’s stealing Southern Nevada’s money for all these years? I bet the governor will help. As one wag put it, “He knows earthquakes ... to a fault.”
