In a recent column Maureen Dowd talked about Barack Obama losing his magic and Hillary Clinton turning into Houdini. Obama has had two weeks of Murphy’s Law and he still maintains his intelligence, wit and grace.
After a possible loss in New Hampshire, Hillary sat around a table tired and crying, and that was at the beginning of these races. Of course she’s pumped and he’s dejected; he’s human but we don’t want him to be.
We want him to be above the old destructive politics but we also want him to really fight back. We want him to be a regular guy but we don’t think he looks comfortable enough doing it. We want an intelligent and articulate president but we don’t want him to sound that way.
He’s the only one who could have an interview on Fox News and come away a winner, but many people are upset he went on that network. Give the man a break. He’s the only one who can save this country at this time. He knows what he’s doing; it’s we who have to get our act together.
