I bet I can summarize in five words everything I’ve heard recently about how we’re going to bring down the crazy gas prices. Here goes ... drill, drill, drill, drill, drill. Did I get it right?
What are we going to do, run a pipeline to our gas tanks? It’s not going to happen, and the sooner we all get that idea through our heads the better. Who knows whether we’re going drill for more oil, but if we do, know that it’s going to take years for it to make any kind of difference!
Have any of the “drill” sergeants out there seen what happened to the price of oil last week? It went down, and by a lot. And it’s because all the greedy folks who’ve been buying up the oil stopped, at least for a while.
What we need to do is change the rules to stop the wealthy folks using oil as a plaything in their portfolios from ratcheting up the prices for those of us who don’t have Jeeves to drive us around all day.
Yes, it’s a free market and we all can do what we want every day, thankfully. But enough’s enough with the way we’re dealing with oil.
