Police released this surveillance video image of a man suspected in a sexual assault.
The Mesquite Police Department captured a 37-year-old sexual assault suspect today after a vehicle chase that ended in a crash across the Arizona state line, Metro Police said.
John Eric Ewing was taken to Sunrise Hospital for injuries from the crash and is listed in serious condition.
Metro detectives in the Sexual Assault Detail had been looking for Ewing after a sexual assault was reported in a Las Vegas Strip hotel. Police learned that Ewing might be in Mesquite.
Ewing has been charged with three counts of sexual assault with a deadly weapon, one count of attempted sexual assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of kidnap in the first degree with a deadly weapon, two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of burglary with a deadly weapon, police said.
