Metro Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a convenience store in the east valley on July 20.

The man entered the store near the 2900 block of East Tropicana Avenue and selected a bag of chips. He approached the counter and when the clerk opened the cash register, he grabbed a large sum of cash, police said.

The man then ran out the door with the money, police said. He was confronted by another customer. The man shoved the customer and the two men began fighting, police said.

The man pictured eventually broke free and fled the store on foot.

Metro robbery detectives are asking that if anyone has information about the man, call 828-3591. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555. A cash reward may be available for the person providing information that leads to the man's arrest.
