I don’t understand the “celebrity” and “elite” status of Sen. Barack Obama, at least not in contrast with Sen. John McCain.
Let’s see.
Who has been on the government payroll all of his adult life, as had his father and grandfather?
Whose wife inherited a business worth millions of dollars?
Whose way was eased into an institution of higher education by reason of family and not by reason of achievement?
Whose parents’ marriage was the kind that provided a stable environment, even though the family moved around every three to four years? Of course, maybe Sen. Obama is elite, having graduated at the top of his class, while Sen. McCain’s academic record is far from admirable.
Just musings on campaign rhetoric.
