O.J. Simpson's only remaining co-defendant is making a last-ditch pitch for a Nevada judge to postpone the start of their armed robbery and kidnapping trial.
Clarence "C.J." Stewart's lawyer filed a two-page motion Wednesday asking Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass to delay the Sept. 8 trial until the Nevada Supreme Court considers his request for a separate trial.
A Supreme Court clerk said the justices haven't scheduled discussions on Robert Lucherini's appeal seeking a separate trial.
Glass has repeatedly vowed not to delay the trial, and has twice rejected requests from Lucherini for a separate trial.
Lucherini argues it will be impossible for Stewart to get a fair trial because of Simpson's celebrity.
