It’s good to be the majority leader. Whatever anyone thinks of Harry Reid, he pulled off quite the impressive feat this week in Las Vegas. Former President Clinton, oilman-turned-windman T. Boone Pickens, three governors. They all came to Reid’s clean energy summit, which garnered a lot of attention, although it did not break much new ground. The diversity of the participants and the fact that Reid managed to get them to the same place at the same time is a testament to the access he has achieved to the business and political elite. Even Sierra Pacific Resources’ Michael Yackira, who has jousted with Reid on coal, was there. Harry Reid: He brings people together. Who knew? Now if he could just get some wind farms here ...
