A journey of forgiveness

Tanemori collage

Beyond the Weekly
Atomic Testing Museum

While the Atomic Testing Museum is thin on details about the human costs of the atomic bombs dropped on Japan, the center does have the good sense to feature an exhibit of collage art from Takashi Tanemori, a Hiroshima survivor who came to the U.S. vowing revenge on the country that had wiped out his family and his town in one instant, when “a gigantic super sun blinded all creation.” The collage art on display—jammed with bits of text, newspaper clipping, photos, maps and drawings—charts Tanemori’s path (and ours) toward forgiveness and redemption.

Bridge to Forgiveness. Through August 31, Nevada residents $9 (kids under 6 free). Atomic Testing Museum, 755 E. Flamingo Road, 794-5161.
