Metro Police, along with other law enforcement agencies throughout Nevada, will conduct several enforcement projects focusing on impaired drivers this weekend.
Although the area patrolled by Metro has recorded a 30 percent drop in DUI-related crashes and a 61 percent decrease in DUI-related fatal accidents, police are joining forces from Aug. 15 through Monday to enforce the law.
-- From 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday, police will patrol the Las Vegas Strip corridor.
-- A DUI sobriety checkpoint will watch for impaired drivers from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m. Saturday and Sunday along Flamingo Road in the southwest area of the valley.
-- From 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday and Monday, officers will saturate Boulder Highway under the Southeast Area Command.
