Carla Prestley
Carla Prestley, 49, of Boulder City, died Aug. 11.
She was born March 24, 1959, in Clinton, Iowa.
Prestley attended grade school in Boulder City and was a graduate of Boulder City High School.
She worked as a seasonal park technition at Boulder Beach, worked construction in Long Island, NY., for Swiss Colony in Illinois, and various other positions. She had also been a caretaker for various family members.
Prestley is survived by her mother Mary Prestley of Boulder City; brother Jim Bouvia, and wife Donette, of Long Beach, Calif.; niece Jamie of Colorado; nephew Robert; and various relatives in Illinois. She was preceded in death by her father Alvin "Red" Prestley of Morrison, Ill.
Upon her death, her long hair, which she had all her life, was given to Locks of Love. Locks of Love provides real hair wigs for children suffering from medical hair loss.
She will be laid to rest in Illinois.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
