Hearing set for woman accused of bringing gun to school

A woman accused of bringing a .45-caliber handgun to Hank and Barbara Greenspun Junior High School Oct. 27 has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 21 in Henderson Justice Court.

Susan Vitz, 44, of Henderson, faces a felony charge of possession of a dangerous weapon on school property. She is set to appear before Justice of the Peace Stephen George at 9:30 a.m.

Clark County School District Police said Vitz was involved in an altercation with a man, which caught the attention of another individual who reported the incident to authorities.

Vitz' sister Sandy Sims has said the story was more complex. She said Vitz was being stalked by a man she used to see and feared for her life.
