Regarding Bob Coffman’s Tuesday letter, “So long to irresponsible Las Vegas drivers”:
I agree with him about Las Vegas drivers. But, as Mr. Coffman mentioned, he came from Tucson.
I also lived in Tucson for a time and yes, it is a much slower pace there.
In the good old days, traffic was also much better in Las Vegas. No one expected this place to grow the way it has. Now we have out-of-town drivers coming to Las Vegas with all their bad driving habits. So Mr. Coffman is only partially right.
Old-time Vegans are not happy either. I liked the way Tucson made certain streets one way in the morning and the opposite way in the afternoon. It sure made getting to and from work a lot easier.
After living in Las Vegas for 53 years, I can tell you there are a lot of good people and good drivers living here. They just happen to be locals. We will miss Mr. Coffman when he moves on.
